Westerville is located in Franklin County and Delaware County in Ohio.

Westerville is located at 40°7'25" North, 82°55'17" West (40.123496, -82.921432). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 32.1 km2 (12.4 mi2). None of the area is covered with water.

Westerville Demographics:

As of the census of 2000, there are 35,318 people, 12,663 households, and 9,547 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,100.6/km2 (2,851.1/mi2). There are 13,143 housing units at an average density of 409.6/km2 (1,061.0/mi2). The racial makeup of the city is 93.54% White, 3.20% African American, 0.13% Native American, 1.55% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.36% from other races, and 1.19% from two or more races. 1.07% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 12,663 households, 39.3% of those have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.8% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.6% are non-families. 20.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.67 and the average family size is 3.11.

In the city the population is spread out with 26.9% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 90.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.9 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $69,135, and the median income for a family is $82,163. Males have a median income of $55,053 versus $36,510 for females.
